Necessary preferences
wts_consent_v4 is local browser storage that remembers your category choices until you change them or clear browser storage. The version changed on 10 September 2026 to clarify OpenAI matching and server-side conversion delivery, so returning visitors must make a fresh choice. It does not itself grant the traffic endpoint access to optional analytics.
First-party traffic measurement
A separate privacy-limited count of requested pages helps identify whether the site is being visited and whether traffic appears human, automated or self-identified as an AI service. It does not need the optional Analytics category. Choose “Opt out of all first-party traffic measurement” to set wts_traffic_opt_out=1 for up to one year and stop both this count and any consented journey or heatmap measurement. With Advertising consent, wts_advertising_consent=granted records that category choice for the same maximum lifetime and cookie settings and is deleted on withdrawal. Removing that setting deletes the opt-out cookie.
Optional journey analytics
When Analytics is granted, wts_analytics_consent=granted is set for up to one year with Path=/ and SameSite=Lax, and Secure when the site is using HTTPS. The first-party collector can then use wts_traffic_session_v1 in session storage. The identifier is renewed while the tab remains active and replaced after 30 minutes without measured activity. Withdrawing Analytics deletes the consent cookie and session identifier and stops later browser telemetry.
Advertising measurement
When both Analytics and Advertising are allowed, we also record the source, medium and campaign labels from a tagged link with the current tab session. These help distinguish paid-campaign visits from referring websites. If you submit an enquiry while both choices are enabled, a random submission-attempt reference links that enquiry to its recorded journey in our private CRM, so we can assess which campaigns lead to enquiries. Your name, email and enquiry text are not added to the traffic events. They exclude advertising click references, full query strings and contact information. Campaign context ends with the tab session or after 30 minutes without measured activity and is cleared when consent is withdrawn. Restricted website and CRM traffic records expire after 90 days.
Advertising measurement may store a campaign reference such as oppref and UTM values so a submitted enquiry can be attributed to the advert that brought the visitor to the site. A confirmed lead event is sent only after the enquiry endpoint accepts the form.
Meta (Facebook) advertising measurement
With your Advertising measurement consent, Meta Pixel measures visits and accepted project enquiries on Wood to Spec. Meta receives the event type, website address, browser information and advertising identifiers such as the Facebook click reference. First-party cookies such as _fbp and _fbc may be stored for up to 90 days. A Lead event is sent only for an accepted project enquiry, using a random enquiry identifier to prevent duplicates. This integration does not pass your name, email, enquiry text, files or other form answers to Meta. Automatic Advanced Matching and automatic event detection are disabled. Rejecting or withdrawing Advertising measurement consent stops this optional tracking and clears its first-party cookies. You can change your choice using Cookie settings. Our duplicate-prevention record expires after 90 days. Browser privacy signals override optional tracking. Existing visitors must make a fresh advertising choice before Meta loads.
Google Ads measurement
With your Advertising consent, we load the Google tag to measure advertising visits and accepted project enquiries. Google may store advertising click information in first-party cookies such as _gcl_aw for up to 90 days. A conversion is sent only after the enquiry service accepts a submission, with a random enquiry identifier to prevent duplicate counting. We do not send your name, email, enquiry text or files to Google through this integration. Enhanced conversions and advertising personalisation are disabled. Rejecting or withdrawing Advertising consent stops this optional measurement; you can change your choice using Cookie settings. Our duplicate-prevention record expires after 90 days.
OpenAI Ads measurement
With Advertising consent, the OpenAI Pixel measures accepted project enquiries. Its automatic advanced matching feature can detect supported contact information, normalise it and hash it in the browser before sending the hashes to OpenAI for matching. Raw contact details are not sent through this feature. The server-side Conversions API sends the same pseudonymous enquiry identifier, event time, page address and available OpenAI click reference; it does not send enquiry text, files or contact details. Delivery may be retried using the same identifier. Restricted delivery receipts are kept for up to 90 days; queued click references are removed after acceptance, final rejection or seven days. Advertising consent is optional and is not required to request a quote.
Browser privacy signals
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track override a saved Analytics or Advertising choice in this browser and stop optional browser telemetry. You can also delete or block storage through your browser, although blocking all storage may affect the enquiry form and saved preferences.
Unlinked choice counts
When you explicitly save your preferences, we record whether you selected Analytics acceptance or rejection and the UK date. A random reference identifies that one submission only, to prevent duplicate counting; it is not saved in your browser. The receipt contains no page, referrer, session identifier, IP address or contact information and is not joined to traffic, enquiries or advertising. We use these counts to check our consent controls, including when you reject analytics or opt out of traffic measurement. Ignoring the banner creates no choice record. Changing a choice can add another record, so totals are submissions, not unique people. Receipts expire after 90 days and are removed by a daily cleanup. Browser privacy signals still override optional tracking.
Changing your choice
Reopen the consent panel from the footer to grant or withdraw Analytics and Advertising or to change the all-traffic opt-out. Withdrawing consent prevents later optional collection; it does not require deletion of information already processed lawfully.
